The #neknomination craze has taken over social media over the last few weeks, with young people challenging each other to drink on camera. Some of those videos have been funny, most much less so, and some have been tragic, but one South African has decided to try and make the viral trend do some good.
Brent Lindeque from Johannesburg was recently “neknominated” by some friends, but instead of putting on a superman suit and downing a can of Castle lager, he highlights some of the troubles facing poor people in South Africa, before offering one man in need a sandwich, chocolate bar, and a coke to send him on his way with a full stomach.
Showing the possibility of making social change go viral under the banner of #ChangeOneThing, Lindeque’s video has already notched up 200,000 views in three days.
