George Orwell’s 1984 has become the defacto cultural reference to the big brother of government and top-down censorship. Now publisher Penguin has had the front cover of the book redesigned by David Pearson, with the author’s name and the title almost completely redacted or censored, with the text only legible as it is embossed, making Penguin the “Ministry of Truth” described in the book.
Pearson has also redesigned Orwell’s four other books, including Animal Farm, which are all out now.
