Ballots have opened across the UK for the European Parliamentary Elections, where the British public will decide who will represent the nation in Europe.

Most people in the UK choose to cast their vote in person at a local polling station, where a member of staff is always available to help if you don’t know what to do. The staff will give you a ballot paper listing the parties and candidates you can vote for, and explain to you how to cast your vote.

As well as the main four political parties (Conservatives, Labour, Liberal Democrats, and UKIP), smaller parties are also looking for your vote including the Green Party and National Health Action Party (NHA).

If you are unsure which party best reflects your views, then EU Vote Match and I Side With offer questionnaires that can help you decide.

Once you have marked your vote, fold the ballot paper in half and put it in the ballot box.

Polling station are open from 07:00 until 22:00, so make sure you make your vote count.
