The 2012 Olympic Games are over, and whilst the Paralympics continue on, the Olympic rings need to come down. One of the the most famous ring displays around London was on Tower Bridge, and photographer Robin Baumgarten captured the moment that the bridge was closed to traffic to give workers time to take the rings down in this beautiful panoramic image.

Much art is created surrounding the Olympics celebrating the athletes or spirit of unity with each country competing on a level playing field for international success in their chosen sport. However, Gustavo Sousa, The Brazilian creative director at Mother London, has decided instead to use the rings to represent the five continents of the world with their relative size reflecting the world in which we live today from population to wealth to obesity and more.
