The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation after a drone hit a British Airways passenger plane as it approached Heathrow.

A British Airways (BA) Airbus A319 bound for Lyon in France was forced to return to Heathrow Airport at around 21:00 on Thursday evening after flames were seen coming from one of the engines during take-off.
