A Norwegian skydiver was almost hit by a meteorite, and caught the moment on video.

Anders Helstrup was skydiving with friends in 2012 when a meteorite whooshed past him at an altitude of 3,700m, although it was only when going back through the footage that he noticed the piece of space rock, according to Norwegian broadcaster NRK.

Helstrup is still unsure if it was a meteorite, but geologist Hans Amundsen is convinced that it was a piece of breccia, a common type of meteorite rock, that missed him by only 2m.

A team of volunteers have been unable to recover the rock to be able to prove that it was a meteorite, but if it was then this is the first time that a meteorite in “dark flight,” after it has decelerated to terminal velocity and no longer carries a bright tail, has been caught on film.
