The Recycled Orchestra of Landfill Harmonic
Just as children around the world will bundle up rags to be able to play football, they will also find a way to make music. In Cateura, Paraguay, a small town essentially built upon a landfill, orchestra director Szaran and music teacher Fabio set up a music program for the local children, but to get around the lack of budget and instruments people have made violins, cellos, and more from recycling materials found in rubbish.
They now have enough instruments to make an entire orchestra out of these recycled instruments, and there is soon to be a documentary released about the group and the transformations that music can offer.
