A teenager was pulled through the water holding onto the fin of a 30ft whale shark after the huge fish swam alongside his boat whilst he and some friends were fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.
Chris Kreis, the 19 year-old Florida native managed to hold onto the shark for around six seconds before letting go and swimming back to the boat.
Whale sharks maybe the world’s largest fish, but they are considered “gentle giants” of the ocean. Near the whale shark, however, Kreis spotted two bull sharks, a much more aggressive species, and he swam back to the boat in double-quick time.
