A sex education cartoon showing dancing penises and vaginas has gone viral after being aired during children’s programming on public television.

The minute-long cartoon features a catchy theme-tune, with lyrics such as “Here comes the penis at full pace” and “the vagina is cool, you better believe it, even on an old lady. It just sits there so elegantly”, according to The Local.

YouTube classified the video, which uses child-friendly words for genitals such as “snipp” and “snopp”, as adult-themed due to its subject area, but Swedish broadcaster managed to convince the video sharing site that the cartoon was appropriate for all audiences.

The clip received a mixed reaction from viewers, but the controversy has resulted in the video being watched over 2 million times on Facebook and YouTube within its first week online.
