An online petition to deport the popstar Justin Bieber from the US back to Canada has reached the 100,000 signature threshold needed to prompt an official response from Obama’s administration.

The White House has confirmed that as with every previous petition on the “We the People” government website to reach 100,000 signatures, the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate staff who will respond.

The petition, which had 143,000 signatures in just seven days at the time of publication, reads:

Deport Justin Bieber and revoke his green card.

We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture. We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked. He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nations [sic]youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society.

This is not the first frivolous petition to reach the 100,000 signature threshold on We the People, with previous official responses garnered from the US government about changing the American national anthem to Miley Cyrus’ Party in the USA and the possibility of building a Death Star as a jobs programme.
