A Pennsylvania man who was left paralysed from the shoulders down after his relatives tipped over a portable toilet with him inside as a prank, has settled a lawsuit for $5 million (£3 million).
Donald Adams III was camping with two relatives, Gerald Grater and Barry Weller, when they manoeuvred their truck to block the portable toilet’s door and lock him inside according to a report in The Legal Intelligencer. His wife’s cousins then accidentally knocked over the toilet as they banged and shook it.
As the toilet fell over, Adams landed awkwardly on his neck. He was rushed to Robert Packer Hospital before being airlifted to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital for surgery. He then faced months of rehabilitation, but was left paraplegic .
Adams sued his relatives for their reckless actions as well as the toilet manufacturer, Poly-San, and the installer, Lewis Crawford, claiming that was improperly installed on a slope. Both Poly-San and Crawford maintained that the injury was a result of reckless behaviour and not their product or installation work.
The case was eventually settled for $5 million (£3 million) in the Sullivan County Court of Common Pleas.

so who has to pay him? Sounds like they were all morons.
It was settled out of court by the parties, so that information was not made public – just the settlement fee.
