A Japanese man is suing TV station NHK for using too many non-Japanese words in their broadcasts, which has left him “emotionally distressed”.
Hoji Takahashi, 71, said that Japan’s state broadcaster is too reliant on English words, and is seeking more than £9,000 in damages for his “distress” over Japan becoming too Americanised.
Speaking on the basis of the complaint, his lawyer said:
“There is a sense of crisis that this country is becoming just a province of America.”
