A nun in Italy has given birth to a baby boy has said she had no idea she was pregnant until going into labour.
The 31-year-old nun, originally from El Salvador, was admitted to hospital on Wednesday complaining of stomach cramps, but was soon giving birth to a healthy 3.5kg baby boy.
The boy has been named Francis after the Pope, and local media are reporting that other mums in the Rieti hospital have donated clothes and other items to help her with the child’s upbringing.
