A cow has been rescued after it fell through a garage roof and became trapped in a vehicle inspection pit next to a farmer’s pasture in Devon.
The 18-month-old cow was found in the garage in Holes Hole, Bere Alston, Devon on Tuesday night and was rescued after firefighters filled the pit with water to raise the heifer before pulling it out with ropes.
It is unknown how the cow got onto the roof in the first place, but it is estimated that it was in the pit for around 24 hours before rescue workers were able to raise it to safety, with a vet on hand to check its health.
