A cat was detained at a jail in Arapiraca city after it was caught crossing the main prison gate with a variety of contraband goods taped to its body.
The items that were attempted to be smuggled into the prison included drill bits, files, a mobile phone and charger, and some headphones – items which may come in handy for a prisoner wanting to escape and needing to orchestrate some help on the outside.
It is currently unknown who the intended recipient was for the goods, with a prison spokesperson quoted in local paper Estado de S. Paulo as saying:
“It’s tough to find out who’s responsible for the action as the cat doesn’t speak.”
The cat has since been taken to a local animal centre.
