Donald Trump has used his Twitter account to spread three anti-Muslim videos published by Britain First deputy leader Jayda Fransen.

The three unverified videos are captioned “VIDEO: Muslim migrant beats up Dutch boy on crutches!”, “VIDEO: Muslim Destroys a Statue of Virgin Mary!”, and “VIDEO: Islamist mob pushes teenage boy off roof and beats him to death!”. Fransen shared no details to support the claims made in the video titles, and did not link to the original source of the clips.

A number of Twitter users expressed shock and dismay that the President of the United States would use his official Twitter account to spread hate messages published by a convicted far right extremist like Jayda Fransen.

Earlier this month, Fransen, 31, was arrested for a speech she had made outside City Hall, Belfast in August, for which she will appear in court next month. She is also under investigation by Kent Police for the distribution of leaflets and the posting of online videos during a trial held at Canterbury Crown Court in May.

Last year, Fransen was found guilty of religiously aggravated harassment and fined nearly £2,000 after she hurled abuse at a Muslim woman wearing a hijab. She had verbally abused a young Muslim mother with her four young children on 23 January 2016 during a so-called “Christian patrol” in Bury Park, Luton.
