Police detectives investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann in 2007 are hunting for a lone intruder that targeted “young white female children” in Portugal between 2004 and 2010.
The dark haired, tanned suspect is believed to have broken into 12 properties where British holidaymakers were staying during the period, and allegedly sexually assaulted four girls aged between seven and ten years of age between 2004 and 2006.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood, who is leading Scotland Yard’s investigation into McCann’s disappearance, said police believe the intruder has “an unhealthy interest in young white female children”, and have appealed to the public for information.
