A rare 1731 Stradivarius violin was recently discovered at the Manhattan home of New York heiress Huguette Clark.

The violin is known as “The Kreutzer” after its former owner, French violinist Rodolphe Kreutzer, and was found gathering dust in the cupboard of Huguette Clark after her death in 2011.

Only around 600 violins are still believed to exist that were made by Antonio Stradivari, who is considered that greatest violin-maker of all time.

In the video above from the Telegraph, violinist Tamsin Waley-Cohen plays some Bach on the instrument that is expected to fetch £6 million at auction.
