Wikipedia, the internet encyclopedia that is used by millions of people each day, has been suffering from intermittent downtime over the last 24 hours.

Users in the UK, Canada, New Zealand, India, South Africa and elsewhere are all reporting intermittent issues with the world sixth most popular website.

However, many people are still able to access the site normally, and the Wikipedia mobile website remains available, so it is likely that Wikipedia is suffering from a DNS issue.

We have not had any confirmation form Wikipedia as to why the site is inaccessible for many of their users, but the site continues to bounce from online to offline.

We’ve reached out to Wikimedia for comment and will update this piece with any new information.
