Researchers are always looking to offer faster and more stable designs for robots so that they can be deployed more quickly and able to better cope with a variety of terrains and uneven surfaces, with the latest development being a robot with “cat-like” movement.

Designed by the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne’s Biorobotics Laboratory, the “cheetah-cub robot” is able to keep more stable than biped robots, whilst having improved multi-terrain movement than a wheeled machine.
