A Norwegian citizen suspected to have helped plan and carry out the terror attack in Nairobi’s Westgate mall as been named as Hassan Abdi Dhuhulow.
The Westgate mall terror attack will have provided a boost in publicity and probably a brief uptick in foreign recruits and jihadi financing for al-Shabab, but it does not improve al-Shabaab’s long-term military situation in Somalia nor does it win the support of significant numbers of Somalis, who just want an end to conflict.
The Kenyan military has published the names of four men suspected to have been involved in the Westgate mall terror attack in Nairobi on 21st September where 67 people were killed.
Interpol have issued a “red notice” for the arrest of UK national Samantha Lewthwaite at the request of Kenyan authorities over the recent terror attack on the Westgate mall in Nairobi.
The UK Foreign Office has confirmed that a British national has been detained in Nairobi, Kenya, with a numbe rof reports that the arrest is related to the terror attack in the Westgate mall.
