UKIP has become the fourth largest political party at the local council elections, winning seats from the Tories, Labour, and the Lib Dems around the country, but they did not find much success in London.
UKIP only managed to win 7% of the vote in London when compared to 25% of the vote outside.
While Nigel Farage has been making the case that UKIP are now a force within British politics, party spokesperson Suzanne Evans told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme that the party struggled to appeal to the media-savvy “cultural, educated, and young” population in the capital.
