Conservative peer Lord James of Blackheath has claimed that cyclists in London are longing to be hit by cars so that they can film the accident.
James was complaining about cyclists dominating the roads in certain areas during a debate on the introduction of fines for littering from cars, claiming they thought they have a “superior law and authority” over motorists.
He claimed that drivers were being “persecuted” on the roads, with cyclists standing in the middle of the road filming drivers and waiting to be hit.
The 75-year-old Tory life peer also grumbled about teenagers “mooning” him from cars, and demanded that such behaviour should be criminalised under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Bill.
