Ed Miliband has dismissed reports of unrest among Labour MPs over his leadership as “nonsense”.
A number of Labour backbenchers have reportedly informed the party chairman of their dissatisfaction with Miliband’s leadership and called for him to step down.
His leadership was reportedly questioned at an official meeting of Labour MPs from north-west England earlier this week, with many questioning whether it is his leadership that has prevented Labour from soaring in the polls.
Miliband dismissed the claims, telling the BBC:
“Honestly, this is nonsense.”
