A recent poll from Opinium/ The Observer shows support for UKIP starting to waver. While their support at 16% is still double that of the Liberal Democrats (a Party in government and with 57 MPs) it has dropped 3 points, falling to their lowest level of support since March.
The polling also shows a strong Labour lead of 11 points over the Conservatives with Labour on 39% and the Tories on just 28%. As always with polling, what is important is not the individual numbers but the trend. But if these numbers remain strong, the spring in Tories step we’ve seen in recent weeks may just be a misstep.
The final numbers are:
- Labour 39%
- Conservatives 28%
- UKIP 16%
- Liberal Democrats 8%
