The Prime Minister proved himself out of touch with the general population by explaining that the Cameron household doesn’t buy bread from the supermarket as they have a breadmaker.

When asked for the price of a loaf of the cheapest bread sold in major supermarkets (which is 49p) by LBC presenter Nick Ferrari, Cameron replied:

“It’s going to cost you north of a pound…I don’t buy the value stuff. I have a breadmaker at home”

MPs are regularly challenged to prove that they are “one of the people” and not out of touch by showing that they know the price of bread or milk. They regularly fail to know the answers.

  1. Hi,
Cameron: I don’t buy bread – I have a breadmaker. As “Private Eye” said “I discovered work on holiday”.
