A quarter of a million people took to the streets of central London today to protest against Donald Trump’s visit to the UK, organisers said.

Protesters marched through the capital carrying placards with phrases that read “Dump Trump”, “Love Trumps Hate”, “We Trumps He”, “Trump is worse than my cancer”, “Make America Care Again”, and “Lock Him Up”.

Aerial images captured by news helicopters overhead showed the streets of central London from Portland Place to Trafalgar Square packed with tens of thousands of people looking to get their voices heard.

The size of the crowd that came out to condemn Trump was significantly larger than 193,000 the controversial US President managed to attract to his own inauguration in January 2017.
