Passengers of a flight form Siberia were forced to get out and push the aeroplane along the runway after its chassis froze in temperatures of -52 degrees Celsius.
A video was posted to YouTube showing jovial passengers braving the freezing temperatures and push the Katekavia (UTair) Tupolev 134 plane along the snow-covered runway in Igarka, which is north of the Arctic Circle.
The passengers managed to “crank” the wheels free after a tractor at the airport failed to move the plane. Once it was free, a tow-truck was used to manoeuvre the plane into position on the runway.
The strength and the passengers has been widely praised across social media, but transport officials are reported to be investigating the incident, which took place on 25 November, as pushing the train free like you would a car could cause structural damage to the aircraft.
