A near-completed apartment block has been burned to the ground in Houston, after strong winds whipped a small fire out of control, with one worker stranded on the top floor.
As the work on the building had not yet been completed, the structure was luckily nearly empty when the fire caught hold. Some construction workers, however, were inside the building with one man left stranded on a top floor balcony as the flames rose around him.
His predicament was caught on video by Karen Jones, who filmed the fire from across the street, with Jones and others around her heard shouting “Oh my God! Oh my Jesus” as the worker jumps down to a balcony below before being rescued by the Houston Fire Department. He was rescued just seconds before the building collapsed.
