As the 4,500 passenger cruise ship MSC Magnifica came in into port of the 825th Hamburg Port Anniversary in Germany, it gave onlookers a deep and loud rendition of the White Stripes’ hit song Seven Nation Army on its foghorn.

The Hamburg Port Anniversary anniversary has been celebrated since 1189, but this was the first time a 293m-long, £3.3 million cruise ship has been used as a huge floating musical instrument.

The Magnifica is a luxury cruise ship, which entered service in 2010 and boasts three swimming pools, five restaurants, 17 bars and lounges, a cinema and a casino on board. It makes regular tours from Southampton to Hamburg with stop-offs in France and the Netherlands.
