Three people have been killed at shootings at two Jewish centres in the Overland Park suburb of Kansas City.

Two men were killed at the Jewish Community Centre and a woman killed an Village Shalom retirement in Overland Park, with police called to the first reports of a shooting at just after 13:00 local time (19:00 BST).

A white male suspect in his 70s is in custody and is reported to have shouted anti-Semitic remarks as he was driven away from the scene. The suspect is from out-of-state, described as a white male with a beard in his 70s, and was not a known individual to police prior to the incident today.

In a press conference, Overland Park mayor Carl Gerlach said:

It is believed that there is no additional reason for concern at this time.

The FBI are assisting in the investigations.
