New satellite images show 122 “potential objects” that could be from the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 in an area of the Indian around 2,500km from Perth, Australia.

The satelite images from Airbus Defence and Space in France show a number of objects spread over a 400 square kilometre area of the ocean according to Malaysian Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein. The new images were taken on 23 March and showed objects up to 23m in length.

Satellite data has shown a number of objects in the area over the past week, but ships in the area have yet to recover any objects.

This new information comes two days after the Malaysian prime minister confirmed that flight MH370 was lost at sea on 8 March with 239 people aboard including passengers and crew.
