German customs intercepted 340g of liquid cocaine en route to the Vatican City.

The cocaine was packaged inside 14 condoms, hidden inside a shipment of cushions, and has a street value of around £33,500.

The drugs were discovered at Leipzig Airport after being flown in from South America, with the package addressed to the Vatican post office.

There was no name specified on the address, so German and Vatican authorities set up a sting operation in an attempt to catch the importer. However, no-one arrived to pick-up the drugs, implying that they were tipped off.

Vatican City has a population of 800.
