Brazilian football coach Luiz Felipe Scolari is the subject of a criminal investigation in Portugal.
Portuguese authorities have not confirmed the reason for the investigation, but Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo claim that the investigation is focused on over €7 million (£5.7m) of unreported income, that Scolari is alleged to have parked off-shore to avoid paying tax.
Scolari, 65, who managed Portugal between 2003 and 2008, has denied the claims, saying in a statement:
“I have correctly filed all my tax returns. In all the countries where I’ve worked, I’ve always declared my income
“If anything is wrong, it’s not my fault. I hope justice gets to the bottom of the facts.”
