Panic will be mounting in school classrooms across the world after 300,000 Panini World Cup stickers were stolen in Brazil.
The stickers were being delivered to newsagents across Rio de Janeiro when thieves managed to make off with the cargo.
Panini were quick to try avoid panic of a shortage amongst fans looking to fill their 640 sticker albums, saying in a statement:
“Panini can state that the city of Rio de Janeiro is well supplied and there is no shortage of official Panini products for sale”
Panini World Cup stickers have been popular with football fans since the 1970 mexico World Cup, with swapping the most precious cards becoming a popular first entry into the world of business and trading for many school children.
