One of the two suspected accused of the murder of off-duty soldier Lee Rigby in Woolwich in May has alleged that he has been assaulted in prison.
Michael Adebolajo, 28, claims that he lost his two front teeth in an attack at the high-security Belmarsh prison in London where he is being held before facing trial for murder. It is not yet known who instigated the attack, although several prison officers were reportedly injured in breaking up the fracas.
HMP Belmarsh have not made any comments about the incident, or the unconfirmed reports that prison officers targeted Adebolajo to exact their own “revenge” for the killing of Lee Rigby.
Lee Rigby’s funeral took place in Bury, Greater Manchester on 12 July, with thousands of people paying their respects to the murdered soldier, and standing against those who want to bring terrorism to the streets of the UK.
