Welsh ministers are considering a proposal to ban “vaping” in enclosed public spaces.
The discussion follows concerns that the use of electronic cigarettes normalise smoking and undermine the smoking ban that is intended to stop young people taking up the habit.
The number of smokers that have turned to e-cigarettes has risen from two percent in 2011 to around 14 percent in 2013, and Welsh ministers are looking to address any issues that this change may bring.
Wales was the first country in the United Kingdom to ban smoking in 2007, and ministers are looking to lead a similar campaign against smokers of electronic cigarettes, which also contain nicotine and can be addictive.
The public health white paper also discusses the possibility of a minimum 50p per unit price on alcohol.
