Two people have been injured in a shooting in Newport in Wales.
Gunshots were heard on Willenhall Street in the city this morning, with armed police called to the scene.
A man and woman were both found injured at the scene along with a firearm. The police are not looking for any 3rd parties involved in the incident and believe that the two people were known to each other.
Gwent Police said:
Police were called to Willenhall Street Newport at about 8.45 am this morning after a report of what sounded like gun shots had been fired.
Armed Police attended and found a male and female injured. Both have been taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital with serious injuries. It is not believed anyone else is involved in the incident and both of those involved were known to each other.
