Falling trees have killed a teenager in Kent and a man in Watford as a storm hit southern Britain.
Heavy rain and 159km/h winds have left around 270,000 homes without power, and caused major delays across the transport system with many trains and flights cancelled.

In the early hours of this morning a 17-year-old girl suffered fatal injuries when the tree came down where she was sleeping in Hever, Kent, and a man in his 50s died in Watford when a tree crushed his car. Next of kin have been informed.
A man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene after a tree crushed a red Peugeot 307 at Lower High Street in Watford, Hertfordshire, at 6:50 GMT. Next-of-kin have been informed.
The Environment Agency has issued 12 flood warnings and 132 flood alerts across the UK, but the storm has now passed as it moved eastwards.
