Two people have died and six people have been injured after a balcony collapsed in central London.

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) was called to Cadogan Square, Chelsea after a balcony ten metres above the street collapsed.

The LAS responded by sending an advanced paramedic, three ambulances, the harardous response team, and a London air ambulance to the scene.

Eight people were treated at the scene, with two men later dying from their injuries.

Chelsea and Fulham MP Greg Hands said on Twitter that the two men who died are believed to be removal men attempting to carry a sofa out of the property when the balcony collapsed beneath them.

Police have taped off the front of the building as they investigate the scene.
