Three Metropolitan police officers from the Diplomatic Protection Group have been arrested for allegedly exchanging extreme pornographic material on their smartphones.
The officers were arrested on 19th December over suspected “possession and distribution of obscene images”, which the Met police described as “extreme” but not involving children.
One has reportedly been suspended, with the other two moved to “restricted duties”.
The file has been passed to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), and the issue referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
The Diplomatic Protection Group’s duties involve controlling access to Downing Street and New Scotland Yard, as well guarding foreign embassies in London.
