Police have been alerted to a serious security breach at the Houses of Parliament after a man was spotted trespassing on the roof of the building.
The Met Police were called to the scene at 21:15 after reports of a man moving around on the roof.
Mystery man on roof of House of Commons seems quite young, and quite relaxed. https://t.co/cPn1ZJ10h9

London Fire Brigade and the London Ambulance Service also attended the scene.
It is currently unclear how the man, who was described as wearing a long-sleeved grey top and dark trousers, managed to evade security and reach the roof or why he was there.
He appears to be alone and does not have a banner or message despite the Houses of Parliament previously having been targeted by campaign groups looking to spread their message.
