A six-year-old boy has reportedly been expelled from school over a row about Mini Cheddars.
Colnbrook CofE primary school has a strict “healthy” lunchbox policy, and Riley Pearson and his younger brother have been expelled for breaching those rules by bringing Mini Cheddars to school in their lunchboxes.
The boys’ father tried to challenge the decision, but headmaster Jeremy Meek defended his decision to expel the pair, telling ParentDish:
We have not excluded a pupil for just having Mini Cheddars in their lunchbox, but where there is a persistent and deliberate breach of school policy, such as bringing in crisps, biscuits, sausage rolls, mini sausages, scotch eggs and similar, and all other avenues have been exhausted, the Governors would expect further action to be taken.
The school would only use a permanent exclusion as a final resort when all other avenues have been exhausted.

Mini cheddars ,how far down the Stalinesc line have we come to think that a school can expel a child from from having an education because his lunch wasn’t well balanced , we understand the need to provide good balanced meals for our children put that isn’t always possible in a world of over inflate prices on so called fresh produce that doesn’t have a long shelf life ,to then be charged for an alternative meal provided by the school which the child may not eat is surely against the child’s rights to atleast chose a foods that he or she would enjoy eating …we have to stop treating parents like they are inept people incapable of doing the right thing for there kids ,financial constraints play a part in the purchasing of these balanced foods and we know not everyone can afford to throw away good money on freshfoods that done last ..yes rules are rules but anyone reading this article will have broken the odd rule or three even bent a few along the way ,but the bottom line isThat that young child’s education has been denied when we all know he should be in school learning his abc,not being denied because his angry parents have dragged the school through the press . I would be very angry too if believed my right to being a parent and choosing for my child what he or she enjoyed eating was being questioned
