Rolf Harris has been jailed for a term of five years and nine months for 12 indecent assaults against four girls.
Harris, 84, was found guilty last month of 12 counts of sexual against four girls between 1968 and 1986, including one against a girl aged just seven or eight.
Harris was sentenced to nine months for assaulting a seven or eight year old autograph hunter in the late 1960s, as well as six months for assaulting a teenage waitress in 1970s, and 30 months for assaulting 15-year-old Tonya Lee on three occasions in 1986. He was also sentenced to eight years in jail for seven assaults on one of his daughter’s childhood friends, Bindi, from the age of 13.
A number of the sentences will be served concurrently to make the total jail term five years and nine months.
In sentencing Harris, judge Mr Justice Sweeney said Harris showed “no remorse” exploiting his celebrity status and destroying the “childhood innocence” of at least one of his victims.
The judge said that Harris’ assaults on Bindi led to her suffering form panic attacks, anxiety, and turning to alcohol for solace.
