Police have been called after reports of a 1.8m crocodile was on the loose in Bristol.
Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed that they are looking for a reptile, with Chief Constable Nick Gargan said on Twitter:
One of our officers was flagged down by a bus driver today, claiming to have seen a 6ft crocodile under Coronation Bridge. We can’t find it.
A police spokesperson said that they “found no trace of the reptile” after they went to investigate after a sighting at around 10:30, but the search continues.
The Bristol crocodile already has his own parody Twitter account @TheBristolCroc making light of the situation.
Go on, walk the dog tonight #snapsnap

And even the police themselves have had a little fun, remembering taht the most recent report of a wild crocodile in in the UK was actually a plank of wood.
