Max Clifford, one of the UK’s leading public relations figures, has been arrested by detectives investigating “historic” sex offences.

Clifford is know to be the man that manages to keep celebrity indiscretions out of the newspapers using a combinations of battering, coercion, and influence, but today it is he that is in the newspapers after being arrested allegedly in connection with Operation Yewtree.

Clifford is the sixth person to be questioned in connection with the Yewtree investigation, which is not connected to the recent scandal surrounding Jimmy Savile. The four other people arrested are Freddie Starr, Gary Glitter, Wilfred De’Ath, and Dave Lee Travis, with another unnamed man in his 80s questioned under question.

Scotland Yard have said that officers arrested a man at 07:40 at his home in Surrey and that the arrest was part of the last separate category of investigations.
