A man has been arrested aiming the beam from a laser pen at a Metropolitan Police helicopter at around 00:40 last night.
The helicopter crew managed to trace the location source of the laser with video tracking equipment, and arrested a 46-year-old man in Orpington in Kent this morning.
The Bromley Metropolitan Police announced the arrest on Twitter of the man after they found a laser pointer at his home in the St Paul’s Cray area.
A 46-year-old man was arrested today after shining a laser directly at the Metropolitan Police helicopter in Orpington. He was cautioned.

The suspect admitted the offence at a south London police station and was cautioned.
The incident comes only days after the disaster in Glasgow when a police helicopter crashed into a busy pub on Friday night, killing nine people. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
