A London woman has been jailed for funding her husband while he wages jihad in Syria.
Amal El-Wahabi, 28, has been sentenced to 28 months in prison for attempting to send &euro20,000 (£15,800) to Turkey to support her husband Aine Davis, a former drug dealer, while he fought in neighbouring Syria.
The Old Bailey heard that in January 2014, Davis, also known as Hamza, asked El-Wahabi to arrange the delivery of thousands of pounds to Turkey to support him while he fought in neighbouring Syria.
She agreed to provide the funds and attempted to trick a friend into carrying &euro20,000 (£15,800) to Turkey in the knowledge that her husband was involved in the fighting in Syria and the cash was to fund terrorism.
Judge Nicholas Hilliard QC told El-Wahabi that she would spend the first 14 months of her sentence behind bars, before being released to spend the remainder on license where she could care for her two young children.
