Wales’ First Minister Carwyn Jones has launched an investigation has been launched into a Welsh government-backed website that offers tips on becoming an escort and running a lap-dancing club.

The issues on the website were raised during First Minister’s questions in the Welsh Assembly, with a number of opposition parties raising their concerns.

The pages, which have since been removed from the website, advised that strippers and lap-dancers could “expect to earn an average £232 per evening” with annual incomes between “£24,000 to £48,000”. It also explained that escorts “provide companionship” to single businessmen at dinner our at the theatre.

The website went on to explain that it was an offence for an escort agency to “incite escorts to act as prostitutes” and provide links to agencies that offered “submissive escorts”.
