Moment man was kicked from a London bus. BBC video
Horrifying footage has emerged of the moment a man was kicked out of the top window of a double-decker bus in London, with the fall leaving him paralysed from the waist down.
The man was hit so powerfully in the midriff that CCTV footage shows him flying through the window of the 254 bus just after 2pm on 27 December 2012 near Finsbury Park, North London.
The video was shown as part of BBC programme “The Route Masters: Running London’s Roads”, which was broadcast on Sunday night, and showed ho police investigate crimes on London’s bus network.
Detective Constable Tony Barun, a specialist safer transport command officer for the Met, told the programme:
“It’s still shocking. Although we see violence every day, it’s our bread and butter, it’s still shocking to see something as graphic and violent as this.
We know these window can be kicked out with a great deal of effort, but to see someone kicked so hard that he actually goes through the window and it pops the window out of its frame – I’ve never seen that before.”
